Fingers Crossed...

I'm a girl, 21 years young, a uni student, a dog lover (well, really an animal lover), a friend, a fiance, a musician, a writer, an artist, a dreamer, a Kiwi and, much to the horror of most people I know, a morning person. Born in Bangladesh, raised in New Zealand and now I'm trying to stand on my own two feet in Australia, but that doesn't define who I am. I'm afraid even I don't know who I am just yet. But I'll learn and I'll let you know.
Let the rain come down and wash away my tears. Let it fill my soul and drown my fears. Let it shatter the walls for a new sun. A new day has come.

Sometimes you need to remind yourself that you are the one who carries you through the heartache. You are the one who sits with the cold body on the shower floor, and picks it up. You are the one who feeds it, who clothes it, who tucks it into bed, and you should be proud of that. Having the strength to take care of yourself when everyone around you is trying to bleed you dry, that is the strongest thing in the universe.

“When they ask me about my future wife, I always tell them that her eyes are the only Christmas lights that deserve to be seen all year long. I tell them that she has a walk that can make an atheist believe in God just long enough to say, ‘God damn’. I tell them that if my alarm clock sounded like her voice, my snooze button would collect dust. I tell them that if she came in a bottle, I would drink her until my vision is blurry and my friends take away my keys. I tell them that if she was a book, I would memorize her table of contents. I would read her, cover to cover, hoping to find typos, just so we could both have something to work on, because aren’t we all unfinished?”

"I remember when I was younger and I wanted to be beautiful; now I’m older and I want to be intelligent. I want to burn hearts with brilliance and engulf souls with compassion. I want to be loved for my thoughts and nothing else."

Sometimes we’re too into the moment to look at the big picture. We fail to see things in perspective because we’re too absorbed in what’s taking place at that very instant. Too absorbed in living the dream that we believe in. And that’s a beautiful thing, as long as you still remember that reality exists. That reality isn’t picture perfect. That, in reality, things go wrong. Being a dreamer takes our breath away, but every now and then we need to breathe.

Guess who’s getting married on Saturday!

misandry-mermaid:

Interesting how we’re always hearing how shameful and irresponsible it is to be a teen mom.

But we never hear the same messages directed at teen dads.

Or even the words “teen dad”.

It’s almost like society demonizes women’s sexuality and sexual choices while absolving men of all sexual responsibility and judgement.

Take a step back and look at yourself. You’re human. You’re beautiful. You can be anything and everything you want to be. Don’t hate because your heart got broken, your parents split up, your best friend betrayed you, someone you barely know teased you. Don’t concern yourself with things you can’t control. Cry if you have to and let go when it’s time. Don’t hang onto painful memories just because you’re afraid to forget. Some things aren’t worth remembering. Stop taking things for granted. Stop taking life for granted. Live for something. Live for yourself. Fall in love. Fall out of love. Fall in and out of love over and over until you know what it really is to love someone. Question things. Tell people how you really feel. Create. Imagine. Inspire. Share something wonderful. Meet new people. Follow your dreams. Life your life to its full potential. Let go of all the horrible things that hold you down and live with all you’ve got. And one day, when you’re old, look back with no regrets.
